Actor John Aprea, known for his role in The Godfather Part II, passes away at the age of 83
The acting community has lost one of its own.
John Aprea, known for his role as the younger Salvatore Tessio in The Godfather Part II (1974), passed away at the age of 83.
His manager Will Levine announced that Aprea died on Aug. 5 in Los Angeles from natural causes, as reported by Hollywood Reporter on Aug. 18.
Born in New Jersey in 1941 to Italian immigrants, Aprea spent some of his childhood in Italy before returning to the U.S. He began his acting career in the ’60s in New York and later moved to Los Angeles, making his screen debut in the 1968 film Steve McQueen film Bullitt.
After various TV appearances, Aprea rose to fame with his role in The Godfather Part II. He also appeared in films like The Manchurian Candidate and The Game, and TV shows, notably Full House where he played John Stamos’ character Jesse Katsopolis, known as Uncle Jesse. Aprea reprised his role in the 2017 Netflix sequel Fuller House.
