“Jimmy Fallon Recounts Hilarious Yet ‘Traumatic’ Milestone His Kids Achieved Over the Summer”
Jimmy Fallon is not a fan of summer camp.
The Tonight Show host recently opened up about why sending his daughters, Winnie and Frances, to summer camp was a tough experience for him and wife Nancy Juvonen.
“I don’t understand why they wanted to go,” Jimmy shared in an exclusive interview with E! News. “I kept asking, ‘Why would you want to leave? You have a great life here with us.’ But they were determined to go and they had a great time.”
While his daughters had a blast, Jimmy and Nancy, who were introduced by mutual friend Drew Barrymore in 2004, felt a bit down without them.
“It was a sad time for us,” he admitted. “They were unreachable. We could only talk to them during a certain time window and it felt like they were in a different world.” (For more on Jimmy’s story, watch E! News tonight, Aug. 27, at 11 p.m.)
Jimmy humorously added, “It felt like trying to break someone out of jail. ‘I’m here to rescue you, sweetheart. You haven’t done anything wrong. I’m here to take you home.’”
