Jennifer Lopez’s Friends Believe She Tried to Save Her Marriage with Ben Affleck Despite His Unfixable ‘Darkness’
Unfortunately, not all second chances are successful. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the once-popular couple, are facing a heartbreaking divorce after just two years of marriage. The actress officially filed for divorce on August 20, ending months of speculation about their troubled relationship since May 2024.
While the news didn’t come as a surprise to fans and the media, close friends of JLo had long believed that she was hoping to save the marriage, despite the couple living separately since April 2024.
According to sources, Affleck has been seen frequenting Hollywood establishments, such as the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, with his friend Kick Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Affleck showed no interest in reconciliation, even though he had previously proclaimed Lopez as the love of his life.
Friends of Lopez revealed that she believed their relationship was a fairy tale love story and that she was finally living her dream. However, she failed to see the true nature of Affleck and the emotional support she needed was beyond his capabilities.
JLo fought against all odds for their love, despite criticisms and doubts from various sources. Even her close friend Jane Fonda had warned about potential red flags in their relationship, given their failed romance in the early 2000s.
Ultimately, Lopez decided to remove Affleck from her last name and filed for divorce on the second anniversary of their extravagant wedding ceremony in Atlanta. She represented herself in the divorce proceedings, indicating a strong resolve to move forward independently.
