Apple Original Films Casts Jennifer Lawrence in Thriller Inspired by ‘Real Housewives’
Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in the upcoming murder mystery film The Wives, which has been acquired by Apple Original Films. The movie is inspired by the Real Housewives TV show, with Lawrence playing a role in the Housewives group, being intoxicated, drunk during the day, and a murder suspect.
In addition to her starring role, Lawrence will also produce the film with Justin Ciarocchi, Jeremy O. Harris, and Josh Godfrey. Apple Studios won the rights to the film in a competitive situation. The movie is still in the early stages of development.
What to Expect from Jennifer Lawrence’s The Wives?
The plot details of The Wives have been mostly kept under wraps, but reports suggest the film will provide drama and suspense to keep audiences engaged. The screenplay will be written by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley, known for their work in Circle Jerk, which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Recently, Lawrence has been taking on more serious projects, including No Hard Feelings, the Apple TV drama Causeway, and producing the documentary Breads and Roes, which focuses on women’s experiences in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover.
As for Apple Studios, they have a lineup of projects including Fly Me To The Moon with Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson, The Instigators with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, and an F1 feature film with Brad Pitt directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Lawrence also has several projects lined up for herself, such as Burial Rites, Sue, and Die My Love. The release date for The Wives will be announced soon.
