Jennifer Garner Honors Late Ballerina Michaela DePrince
Jennifer Garner is honoring a remarkable talent in the world of dance.
The 52-year-old shared a tribute to the late ballerina Michaela Mabinty DePrince on Sept. 14, expressing on her Instagram Story, “Such a beautiful dancer: Rest in peace.”
Michaela’s passing was announced on her Instagram account on Sept. 13. The 29-year-old was a principal soloist with the Boston Ballet.
“Her life was characterized by grace, purpose, and strength,” the statement read. “Her dedication to her art, her humanitarian work, and her bravery in overcoming incredible challenges will always be an inspiration to us.”
Michaela and her sister Mia were adopted from Sierra Leone by a family in New Jersey, and she began her dance training at the Rock School of Dance in Philadelphia. She later studied at the American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of Ballet before becoming a dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2012. Michaela also danced with the Dutch National Ballet and joined the Boston Ballet as a principal soloist in 2021.
