Jennifer Affleck jokingly admits to never meeting her husband Zac Affleck’s famous cousin Ben Affleck and laughs about sharing the same name as JLo.
Jennifer Lynn Affleck, who will soon be featured in Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, admitted that she has never met her husband’s famous cousin, Ben Affleck. In an interview with People before the series premiere on September 6, the MomToker, who jokingly referred to herself as the “new Jenny from the block,” mentioned that it has always been interesting to be Jennifer Affleck. She even claimed to be the original JLo.
“Especially because my name is not only Jen but Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is the same as JLo. She went from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is so crazy,” she explained, referring to how the singer and actress changed her last name after marrying Ben. Lopez, however, has requested to revert to her maiden name in her divorce filing from the Oscar winner.
“People are very curious and wondering how we’re related, and it’s so funny,” Jennifer said.
In relation to the actor’s connection to her family, Jennifer added, “He’s my husband’s cousin, but we’ve never met him.” Zac, for those unfamiliar, is Ben’s first cousin once removed. His father, Dave Affleck, is Ben and Casey Affleck’s first cousin.
“Zac’s dad has met them, when Ben was very little,” Jennifer mentioned, expressing her hopes to meet him one day.
During the show’s premiere, as reported by People, Jennifer also discussed her relationship with the famous Affleck family, expressing her desire to hear Casey and Ben Affleck’s opinions on her show.
“They can tell me how the show is,” she said.
This is not the first time Jennifer has spoken about Zac’s connection to Ben Affleck. In September 2022, after Bennifer’s two wedding ceremonies—first in Vegas and the second at Affleck’s luxurious Georgia estate—the influencer with 1.4 million followers posted a video on TikTok, jokingly expressing disappointment over Lopez taking her husband’s last name and creating a similar moniker to hers.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres on Friday, September 6, on Hulu.
