Jenna Ortega Reveals Heartwarming Connection with Winona Ryder Before Beetlejuice Premiere
The Wednesday star Jenna Ortega shared insights about working on the sequel to the 1986 film Beetlejuice. The upcoming movie will feature original actors Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, with Ortega joining the cast. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress discussed her bond with Ryder and how it made her feel welcomed.
Ortega mentioned how Ryder helped her stay grounded amidst her growing fame. In a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Ortega praised Ryder for guiding her through the challenges of fame, stating, “She definitely helped me feel less alone and provided great comfort.”
Ortega also expressed her admiration for Ryder, calling her one of her favorite people on set. In the Beetlejuice sequel, Ortega will play the character Astrid, who defies warnings about Beetlejuice’s curse.
According to Ortega, her character in the film is unique and will resonate with the audience. She highlighted the importance of the relationship between her character and Lydia, played by Winona Ryder.
The sequel, set for release in 2024, will see the return of original cast members and new additions like Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is scheduled to hit theaters on September 6.
