Jenelle Evans Gives Update on Her Children Following Split From David Eason
Jenelle Evans is opening up about her family’s recent challenges. After separating from her husband David Eason in March, the MTV star shared an update on how her children are coping.
“They’re doing much better now that we’re no longer together,” she explained during a conversation with fellow cast member Briana DeJesus on an episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter that aired on June 13. Jenelle mentioned that she obtained “full custody” of her son Jace last year, although they faced some struggles along the way.
One particularly difficult moment was when Jace ran away from home towards the end of last summer, a situation Jenelle discussed during the episode.
“After Child Protective Services intervened and Jace ended up in the hospital,” she shared with Briana, “Jace said, ‘David strangled me.’ As a result, Jace was allowed to return home, but David faced criminal charges for strangulation and child abuse. I had to make the tough decision to ask David to leave, which ultimately led to a no contact order between him and Jace.”
In January of this year, David was indicted by a grand jury on child abuse charges related to the incident with Jace in September, allegations he has denied on social media. The case is still ongoing.
