“Jatt and Juliet 3 Breaks Records: Diljit Dosanjh’s Film Sets New Advance Sales High for Punjabi Movies”
Jatt and Juliet 3 has set a new record for highest advance sales ever for Punjabi films. As of now, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer has earned around Rs. 1.40 crore in pre-sales for its opening day, with expectations that it will surpass Rs. 1.50 crore. This exceeds the previous record held by Carry on Jatta 3, which had Rs. 1.10 crore in advance sales for its opening day.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that these advances occurred on a non-holiday Thursday and with reduced showcasing due to a clash with Kalki 2898 AD. If it had been a solo release on Friday, the numbers would have been even higher as major cinemas are almost at full capacity for prime-time shows.
In national chains such as PVRINOX and Cinepolis, Jatt and Juliet have already sold 31,000 tickets by 10:30 PM, setting a new record for Punjabi films. The final number is expected to reach around 33-34K. Nearly ten locations, primarily in national chains, have sold over 1000 tickets for the first day, with Cinepolis MBD in Ludhiana nearing 2000 tickets. In Punjab, the advance sales at national chains rank second only to KGF 2, ahead of Animal, Gadar 2, and Jawan.
Based on the advance sales, Jatt and Juliet 3 is likely to break the opening record for Punjabi films, although the clash with Kalki 2898 AD has resulted in lower showcasing capacity. The film is being showcased at around 85% of Carry on Jatta 3 and 70% of KGF 2 in major centers, making it challenging to set a new record. The actual outcome will be revealed tomorrow once the showcasing limitations are taken into account.
The advance sales are also at record levels internationally. In Canada, the film has sold 22K tickets worth CAD 275K for the weekend by the end of Tuesday. Similarly, Australia has sold over 12K tickets for the weekend. Jatt and Juliet 3 is on track to achieve remarkable numbers worldwide, which is crucial for the Punjabi film industry.
