Jared Padalecki is sharing his personal mental health journey.
The Gilmore Girls alum revealed that in 2015, he admitted himself to a clinic due to struggling with thoughts of suicide.
“I had a really low moment,” Jared recounted in the June 25 episode of Tommy DiDario‘s I’ve Never Said This Before podcast, as reported by People. “I was letting my thoughts take over and going to places of dramatic suicidal ideation.”
After confiding in his wife, Genevieve Padelecki, whom he married in 2010, about his feelings, Jared said she urged him to seek professional help by coming home.
“I got home, went to a clinic for a couple weeks and looked into it and haven’t been suicidal since,” Jared added, “not for a moment.”
Regarding what led to his mental state, Jared mentioned that he felt he needed a reset after experiencing the negatives of Hollywood for more than a decade.
