Jamie Lee Curtis Criticizes Paparazzi for Invading Privacy and Leaking Images from Freakier Friday Set
Jamie Lee Curtis subtly criticized paparazzi for intruding on the set of her upcoming movie Freakier Friday, stating that they were trying to keep the film under wraps until its release. However, she assured the media that no major plot points were revealed through the leaked photos and even shared a behind-the-scenes picture of her own!
The Everything Everywhere All At Once star posted a photo on Instagram with her co-star Lindsey Lohan, reuniting for the sequel to the 2003 cult classic Freaky Friday. “Since other outlets have already shared it, I’ll take advantage of the paparazzi intrusion into our creative process,” she said in reference to the picture.
Lee Curtis mentioned that the team had worked hard to keep the story “a secret and private” until the film’s release. She explained, “Sometimes an image leaks, but it doesn’t give away any details about the story or the characters.” In the photo, Lohan and Lee Curtis are shown smiling and hugging on what appears to be a beach, capturing the joy of working together on the upcoming film.
While keeping details about Freakier Friday mysterious, Lee Curtis ended her post by promising viewers a great experience in theaters. “It’s the place where we all come together to enjoy a shared experience in the dark with popcorn and candy, laughing and sometimes crying together. Until then…” she concluded.
Freakier Friday is the highly anticipated sequel to Disney’s beloved 2003 film, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis as Anna and Tess—a mother and daughter who swap bodies after a strange incident involving a fortune cookie. The story follows their adventures living in each other’s shoes.
Based on Mary Rodgers’ children’s book of the same name, which was previously adapted into a 1976 film, the new sequel directed by Nisha Ganatra takes place years after the initial body-swapping event. With Anna now having a daughter of her own, will history repeat itself?
While some original cast members return, including Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, and Christina Vidal Michelle, the film will also feature newcomers like Manny Jacinto, Sophia Hammons, Julia Butters, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Jordan E. Cooper, adding their own charm to the story.
Freakier Friday is set to premiere in theaters in 2025.
