Rachel Leviss Shares How She Kept a Photo of Ariana Madix in Her “Shame Backpack” During Rehab Treatment
Rachel Leviss recently opened up about her rehab journey on her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue. The 29-year-old reality star shared how she found healing during her time at the facility after her split from Scandoval. She talked about a specific exercise she did to work through conflicts with her former costar Ariana Madix.
One of the tasks she was given involved a “shame backpack,” where she had to write down all the hurtful remarks she could remember—insults, name-calling, and derogatory comments.
Rehab facility transforms Leviss’ writings into personal book
The facility then turned all of Rachel Leviss’ written papers into a book that she was required to carry around. “It was very heavy,” she shared. “I had to wear that backpack everywhere for a week.” Despite causing back pain, she realized how this exercise contributed to her healing process.
While discussing the assignment with her therapist, Rachel was asked if she wanted to carry those negative comments with her forever. She declined and was instructed to tear up all the papers.
During that week, a fellow resident at the center found a newspaper article about Rachel Leviss’s past affair with Tom Sandoval, who was in a long-term relationship with Ariana Madix. The headline featured both women.

Rachel was surprised to see an item from her “shame backpack” show up at The Meadows. It was a surreal experience for her, especially during the assigned week. From this encounter, she learned the importance of not internalizing the hate and shame directed towards her, understanding that life becomes more challenging when weighed down by negativity.
Following her breakup with Sandoval, Rachel Leviss has started dating businessman Matthew Dunn. Her publicist shared with PEOPLE magazine in April that it’s too early to define their relationship, as they are currently getting to know each other as friends.
Rachel posted a video on social media where she was seen riding an ATV with Dunn, who owns Dune Investment Group in Spokane, Washington.
