Paul Mescal, Connie Neilsen, and Denzel Washington Shower Praise on Director Ridley Scott for Gladiator II’s Glitz and Glamour
The upcoming film Gladiator II’s cast members shared their positive experiences working with director Ridley Scott. Paul Mescal, Connie Neilsen, and Denzel Washington all praised Scott during a recent screening of the film. The movie is set to be released 24 years after the first installment.
Paul Mescal, playing the role of Lucius Virus, was in awe of Scott’s directing skills. He mentioned how Scott shot epic war scenes in Rome in just nine days. He also mentioned how Scott helped calm him down before important scenes.
Denzel Washington, reprising his role as Macrinus, shared how Scott made the filming process easy for the actors. According to Washington, all they had to do was put on their costumes and act in front of the camera.
Connie Neilsen, returning to her role as Lucilla, shared her experience of working with Scott again after 24 years. Comparing the filming process now to back then, Neilsen mentioned how everything was done much more efficiently this time around.
Other cast members like Fred Hechinger also praised Scott’s work ethic and creativity. Gladiator II is set to hit theaters on November 15.
