Now that Hurricane Milton has swept through Florida, many are wondering if there is another hurricane in its wake. The next hurricane name would be Nadine, but could there be a Hurricane Leslie soon?

Learn more about Hurricane Leslie and if it’s possible for Florida to get another storm.

Is There Another Hurricane for Florida?

At the time of publication, a full-blown hurricane has not formed in the Atlantic yet. There is no current threat to Florida following Milton. However, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) has been monitoring two tropical developments that could turn into Hurricanes Nadine and Leslie.

Hurricane Leslie 2024 Forecast

According to the NHC’s website, Leslie “likely peaked in strength” on Thursday, October 10. It is moving northwest and is currently in the middle of the southern Atlantic Ocean.

Is Hurricane Nadine 2024 Forming?

Earlier this week, the NHC noted via its website, “Although environmental conditions appear only marginally favorable for additional development, a short-lived tropical or subtropical storm could form today or this evening while the low moves northeastward to east-northeastward at around 15 mph. Upper-level winds are forecast to increase later tonight, which should limit any chances for further development.”

Nadine is currently known as “Invest 93L.” It is not considered a tropical storm nor a hurricane yet. However, if Nadine forms, the projected path would be in the southern Atlantic Ocean, and the storm would potentially travel up toward Florida. However, it appears unlikely that this will happen.

How Is Florida Recovering After Hurricane Milton?

Milton left extensive destruction and flooding in its path. The storm was initially projected to make landfall on Thursday, October 10, early in the morning, but the storm sped up and hit the west coast during the evening of Wednesday, October 9. As a result, countless residents are experiencing power outages, and others had to evacuate their flooded homes. Counties that experienced the most flooding and chaos were Pinellas, Sarasota and more. Milton made its way off the east coast of Florida in the morning on Thursday, October 10.

Orlando International Airport temporarily shut down in order to prepare for the storm, while other tourist attractions also closed for the hurricane.
