The Truth About Beyoncé’s Performance at the DNC
This isn’t Texas—it’s the Democratic National Convention.
Beyoncé‘s representative is setting the record straight and dismissing rumors that the singer will be making a surprise appearance on Aug. 22 at the Chicago political event, which is being held to honor Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections, along with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
“Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there,” the representative told The Hollywood Reporter. “The report of a performance is untrue.”
Although Beyoncé didn’t perform at the DNC, other celebrities did, including Pink, Kerry Washington, Maren Morris, and Mindy Kaling. They even showed support for fellow Massachusetts residents Ben Affleck during his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
“I couldn’t leave here without giving a shoutout to the amazing delegation from my home state, Massachusetts,” Mindy Kaling shared on Aug. 21, the second day of the three-day convention. “I love you, Massachusetts. Everyone is always hating on us, but they just don’t get it.”
