Latest Update: Angelina Jolie’s Legal Battle with DoJ and FBI Over 2016 Plane Incident with Brad Pitt – Is It Coming to an End?

Angelina Jolie will no longer be pursuing access to FBI documents related to an incident involving her ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2016. She had filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request under the name Jane Doe in 2021 requesting the documents.
According to People, the Maleficent star dropped her case in court on September 25th. The documents, with significant redactions, contained details of an altercation between Pitt and Jolie on September 14th, 2016.
The FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services had investigated allegations against Pitt for his behavior towards one of their children. However, both agencies concluded their inquiries by the end of 2016.
Jolie claimed that the incident on the plane occurred just before she filed for divorce in 2016. Following their separation, the two were involved in a lengthy court battle over custody of their children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, all of whom were present during the reported altercation.
In response to a lawsuit filed by Brad Pitt in 2022 regarding their vineyard and wine company, Jolie accused him of harming their children. Attorney Amanda Kramer, representing “Jane Doe”, emphasized the importance of victims having access to federal agency records for crimes they have experienced.
Kramer, representing Jolie, revealed in 2022 that the actress had faced obstacles in obtaining necessary records and had to resort to legal action. She filed the final documents for the case on September 25, bringing an end to Jolie’s pursuit of the FBI documents.
