The Conclusion of O.J. Simpson’s Ex-Wife Nicole Brown Simpson: A Closer Look
O.J. Simpson first met Nicole Brown in 1977, after divorcing his first wife, Marguerite, two years later in 1979. The couple married on Feb. 2, 1985, and welcomed their daughter Sydney eight months later, followed by their son Justin in 1988.
During a domestic abuse call on Jan. 1, 1989, Nicole expressed frustration to the police that they had not taken action on prior visits to their home at 360 N. Rockingham Ave. in L.A.’s Brentwood neighborhood. Simpson claimed he only pushed her out of bed and left when advised to go to the police station.
After pleading no contest to misdemeanor domestic violence, Simpson was sentenced to probation, community service, fines, and counseling in May 1989. Nicole later filed for divorce in February 1992 and settled in October, receiving financial support and retaining a rental property.
Despite the divorce, Simpson continued to threaten and harass Nicole. She documented his threats in a diary entry from June 3, 1994, and called a battered women’s shelter in Santa Monica on June 7, 1994, to report his stalking. Tragically, she was found dead five days later.
