A Peek into Liam Payne’s Role as a Father to his Son Bear, with Ex Cheryl Cole
Nobody loved Bear Grey Payne the way Liam Payne did.
The late One Direction member, who passed away on Oct. 16 in Argentina at the age of 31, leaves behind his 7-year-old son. He welcomed his son in March 2017 with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole. Despite being only 23 years old when his son was born, Liam had always envisioned becoming a young father.
“I always wanted to be a young dad,” he shared with People in 2018, “but I didn’t really expect that I’d ever be in this place.”
Liam was amazed at how fast his son was growing up even back then.
“I look at him, like, ‘Where’s my little baby gone already?’” he expressed. “He’s walking around the house, pretending his teddy’s a phone. He’s awesome. And a lot of fun. I love spending time with him.”
Although the “Strip That Down” singer kept Bear mostly out of the public eye, he occasionally offered glimpses into his life as a father. In March, Liam posted a picture of his son observing a promotional poster for his single, “Teardrops.”
