Influencer’s Toddler Dies in Pool Drowning as Parents Slept
Jasmine Yong is grieving a tragic loss.
The Malaysian influencer, known for her lifestyle, travel, beauty, and fashion content on Instagram, shared that her husband Lim Kong Wang and she lost their son Enzo on May 17 after he drowned in a hotel pool while they were sleeping. Enzo was just 2 years old.
“We took a nap and when we woke up, he wasn’t there with us,” Yong wrote in a Instagram post on May 22, translated to English. “We noticed that the indoor pool’s locked door had been opened.”
Yong mentioned that due to a poor network connection in the room, they couldn’t call for help. The couple was at the hotel to celebrate Mother’s Day. They performed emergency CPR on Enzo before seeking assistance from others.
“We hurried to the hotel lobby with the baby and requested the hotel staff to call an ambulance and provide first aid until medical help arrived,” she explained. “After being taken to the hospital for treatment, the baby’s heartbeat was restored after half an hour, but he was still in a coma.”
Unfortunately, Enzo’s heartbeat eventually stopped due to a lack of oxygen supply, and Yong expressed that he had “ascended to become a joyful little angel.”
