On her official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the actress mentioned, “Shooting Murari with Mahesh was a joy, and discovering Nandini at that time was a delightful surprise. It’s amazing to see the continued love for the movie even after 23 years!”
Sonali Bendre expressed her gratitude further, saying, “Thank you for all the love. A special mention to Vamsi Garu for making this film so special for us.”

The film Murari, starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and Sonali Bendre, is a supernatural family drama originally released in 2001. Directed by Krishna Vamsi, the film follows the story of a carefree man.
However, as a descendant of a Zamindar family, he is plagued by a generational curse that has affected the family since the 19th century. Every 48 years, a family heir dies in their early 30s, despite religious rituals.
The movie focuses on whether the young man can break the curse through his spiritual strength. Sonali plays his love interest, alongside other talented actors like Lakshmi, Sukumari, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Annapurna, Sudha, and more.
The film received praise from critics and was a box office success. Interestingly, it also marked action choreographer Peter Hein’s debut in Telugu cinema, known for his work in Magadheera and Baahubali.
As for Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, he is gearing up for his next project, tentatively titled SSMB29. This movie will be his first collaboration with director SS Rajamouli and is expected to be an adventurous film.
