The Mean Girls actress shared her excitement about filming the sequel at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, where she felt like “a little kid again.” She mentioned that reuniting with Curtis after all these years was something she looked forward to, as they have stayed in touch over time.

Lohan and Curtis are set to star in the sequel to their original film almost two decades later. Lohan will reprise her role as Anna Coleman, while Curtis will return as Tess Coleman, Anna’s mother.
In a recent interview with Nightline, Lohan talked about her excitement for Freaky Friday 2 as the film entered production. She mentioned how easily she reconnected with Curtis and emphasized their strong bond over the years.
She reflected, “Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I have stayed in touch over the years.” Lohan added, “You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close with? If you can not see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.”
Additionally, Lohan shared that returning to the Disney lot for filming made her “emotional,” bringing back memories from her earlier Disney films.

Lohan mentioned feeling emotional as she returned to the Disney lot in Burbank to shoot the sequel to Freaky Friday. She explained that being back at Disney Studios brought back memories from her previous projects.
She expressed, “Being back on the Disney lot because that’s not just Freaky Friday for me, that’s The Parent Trap (1998), that’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), that’s Herbie. It’s so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again.”
Lohan expressed her gratitude for the experience, acknowledging that she would become emotional. She stated, “It’s a great experience.”
In June of this year, Disney confirmed that the sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production.
Freaky Friday 2 will continue the story years after the original film, with Tess and Anna experiencing another body swap as Anna navigates her new family dynamics.
