Ice Spice Addresses Rumors About Using Ozempic for Weight Loss
Ozempic is no joking matter for the comedian. Handler revealed that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the medication without her knowledge of what the drug actually was.
“I didn’t even realize I was taking it,” she shared during the Jan. 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy. “She told me, ‘If you ever want to shed five pounds, this works.'”
However, after trying the medication, Handler admitted that she didn’t enjoy how it made her feel.
“I returned from a trip and gave myself the injection,” she remembered. “A few days later, I went out to lunch with a friend who mentioned feeling nauseous due to Ozempic. I realized I was feeling the same way, but chalked it up to jet lag from my recent trip to Spain.”
In the end, Handler decided to discontinue the use of the medication as it wasn’t necessary for her health. She gave the remaining doses to friends.
“I ended up injecting four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I didn’t want to use it myself since it was unnecessary,” she disclosed. “It’s meant for individuals struggling with obesity. I had friends coming over, scheduling appointments, and I thought, ‘This is ridiculous!'”
