“Christina Perri Shares Her Daughter’s Love for Chappell Roan in Hysterical Laughter”
Christina Perri shared that music is a significant part of her family life, especially with her daughters Pixie Rose, 22, and Carmella, 6. She mentioned that they often sing lullabies together. Perri recently recounted a funny story about Pixie, describing her as “spicy.”
Before finally agreeing to a lullaby Perri composed specifically for her called Pixie Dust, Pixie rejected every other lullaby Perri sang. Perri mentioned that Pixie was very clear about her preferences, even at a young age.
Perri shared that she has written songs for both of her daughters and created lullaby albums for them. She sometimes sings her popular song “A Thousand Years,” which has been made into a children’s book. She also sings “You Are My Sunshine” and the special song “You Mean the Whole Wide World to Me,” which she wrote for Carmella.
Different genres of music play throughout Perri’s house, especially since Carmella has developed a love for pop music. Carmella is a fan of musician Chappell Roan, and Perri finds bedtime particularly special due to the sweet lullabies.
Reflecting on her career, Perri admitted that she cherishes the time spent singing lullabies even more than her days as a pop star. She now values being a mother and singing to her children above all else.
Perri mentioned that her daughters are proud of her work, especially now that one of her songs has been turned into a children’s book. She loves sharing her music with them in this unique way.
Perri expressed that she enjoys involving her daughters in her work whenever possible and feels like she is in a sweet phase of her career.
Perri’s daughters are excited that she has become a published author, and she mentioned that writing music with a family theme comes naturally to her.
Perri emphasized that she is simply living her real life, focused on motherhood and singing lullabies to her daughters. She believes this authenticity resonates with her audience and is grateful for the creative sweet spot she’s currently in.
After a busy summer with her family, Perri and her husband Paul Costabile are looking forward to a more relaxed pace and quality family time for the remainder of the year. She mentioned their summer highlights, including trips to the Jersey Shore, Legoland, Disneyland, and Universal Studios.
Perri is excited about her younger daughter starting first grade and shared that her book “A Thousand Years” is available for pre-order, set for release on April 1, 2025.
