Gina Torres is excited about the Suits: LA spin-off series and hopes it will be just as successful as the original. She shared her thoughts at the 2024 Emmy Awards red carpet, saying, “It’s L.A., I think it’s fantastic. I hope they have a successful and as long a run as we did.”
Reflecting on her time on the original series, Torres expressed gratitude for being a part of it and is happy to see the spin-off breathe new life into the franchise. She praised the new cast and storylines, emphasizing the quality of the show.
The original Suits, which aired from 2011 to 2019, featured a talented cast including Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, and Sarah Rafferty. The LA-based spin-off will star Stephen Amell as Ted, a former federal prosecutor who starts a law firm specializing in criminal and entertainment cases alongside his friend Stuart Lane.
Suits gained a huge following on Netflix and broke viewing records in 2023. The news of the spin-off came amidst talks of a potential revival of the original show. During a panel discussion, Patrick Adams hinted at the possibility of a Suits movie with the original cast coming back together.
While the focus is currently on Suits: LA, there is interest in reuniting the OG cast for a movie. Though there are many factors at play, the idea of a reunion is definitely on the table.
