At a screening event in London, Spanish-German actor Daniel Bruhl discussed his role in the new series, where he embodies Karl Lagerfeld.
During a Q&A session post the screening, Bruhl admitted that he initially found the idea of playing Lagerfeld “absurd” and burst out laughing when offered the role. However, he later found the challenge intriguing and decided to take it on.

The series will follow the journey of Karl Lagerfeld in the 1970s Parisian high fashion scene across six episodes.

Bruhl also shared how meeting Lagerfeld once in the past aided him in preparing for the role. Recalling the encounter, he mentioned feeling nervous around Lagerfeld, who helped him ease into the situation and reminded him of influential figures like Andy Warhol.
This single interaction with Lagerfeld inspired Bruhl to take on the challenging role and encapsulate the essence of Karl Lagerfeld’s persona.
