Scarlett Johansson Reveals Her Reaction to Husband Colin Jost and Michael Che’s Annual Joke Swap on SNL: “I Fully Blacked Out”
Scarlett Johansson recently opened up about her experience during SNL’s annual Joke Swap episode. She revealed that she was “blacked out” during the segment that aired in May. In this segment, both Colin Jost and Michael Che write jokes for each other, without knowing what the other person has written until they have to read it out loud.
During one of the jokes, Johansson was teased about her role in the film Her. This happened around the same time she was preparing for a legal battle with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
What was Scarlett Johansson’s reaction to SNL’s joke swap?
During the segment, Che mocked OpenAI’s voice assistant, which resembles Johansson. This situation was similar to the plot of Johansson’s film Her. Che’s joke involved not seeing the point of listening without the body, which was read out loud by Johansson’s husband.
On The Kelly Clarkson Show, Johansson confirmed that her husband was reading the joke for the first time live during the SNL segment. She mentioned feeling terrified and even claimed to have “blacked out” during that period of the night.
Johansson expressed her shock when her picture came on the screen, saying that she screamed. She also mentioned the tradition of the joke swap on SNL, calling it a gift.
More on Scarlett Johansson’s legal battle with OpenAI’s ChatGPT
According to TMZ, Johansson is preparing for a legal battle as OpenAI’s voice assistant Sky sounds similar to her voice. She hired legal counsel to address the issue and asked for details on how Sky’s voice was created.
Johansson declined an offer to use her voice for ChatGPT’s 4.0 model but later discovered that they may have found a way to use her voice without her consent. She believes they either hired someone to imitate her voice or generated it using technology.
