Taylor Swift’s New Album Tops iTunes Charts with Static Noise
Fans of Taylor Swift can experience her amazing music even in moments of silence.
An eight-second video teaser from Taylor’s upcoming The Tortured Poets Department album, which had no sound, quickly climbed to the top of the iTunes Top Videos chart on March 18.
Although the video named “All’s fair in love and poetry” had no vocals, it featured a backdrop with a description that Taylor had shared back in February when she first announced the album, giving fans a glimpse of its aesthetic.
The description in the video reads, “And so I enter into evidence, My tarnished coat of arms, My muses, acquired like bruises, My talismans and charms, The tick, tick, tick of love bombs, My veins of pitch-black ink, All’s fair in love and poetry… Sincerely, the Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department.”
The sudden surge in popularity of the silent video did not go unnoticed by fans, with one fan joking on X (formerly Twitter), “My favorite thing about Swifties is we can make static noise go number 1 like it’s nobody’s business.”
