“Unfortunately, they hadn’t seen our missing hiker,” stated the post. It included a picture of the comedian, who is known for his love of cars, posing with the volunteers. “but they were thankful for our efforts.”
After approximately 8 hours of hiking and with assistance from local hikers, Mr. Yang was discovered in good health but dehydrated, the message continued. “After spending 30 hours in the Angeles National Forest, Mr. Yang was rescued and reunited with his family. This is the reason we volunteer.”
The Montrose Search and Rescue Team, another LASD volunteer unit, shared in their own statement that Yang was located after a kind stranger discovered him in the area between Mount Waterman and Twin Peaks and alerted authorities.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone involved in the search, especially the individual who acted swiftly and called the police,” the team expressed their gratitude. “This successful rescue serves as a powerful reminder of the crucial role our hiking community members play in our missions. Without your diligence and willingness to help, this rescue may not have been possible.”
