How Ethan Chapin’s Mother Finds Solace
Stacy Chapin knows that her late son Ethan Chapin is not alone.
One and a half years after the tragic murder of Ethan, his girlfriend Xana Kernodle, and their friends Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves at a house in Moscow, Idaho, Stacy believes that Ethan is now in a better place surrounded by love.
“I’m not certain of his whereabouts,” Stacy shared with Tay and Taylor Lautner on the June 5 episode of The Squeeze podcast. “He is in Heaven somewhere, content. We take solace in knowing that Xana is with him.”
Reflecting on their time with Xana, Stacy expressed their decision to keep the memory of the other students private out of respect, saying, “She was a beautiful soul. Everyone copes differently, and the fact that they are together now brings us comfort.”
Stacy, also a mother to surviving triplets Maizie and Hunter, shared how she and her husband Jim discovered they had independently found the same way to honor Ethan.
