Taha Shah Badussha of Heeramandi opens up about Manish Malhotra’s support during tough times, remembers ‘no one gave me clothes’
Actor Taha Shah Badussha has been receiving a lot of praise for his recent web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Taha portrayed the character of Nawab Tajdar Baloch, an advocate and Alamzeb’s love interest in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand project. The actor captured our hearts with his charming appearance and the stunning costumes he wore on the Bhansali set.
Taha Shah, who is now gaining fame, recently discussed how he used to approach designers for clothes but struggled to receive any outfits during his early days.
Taha Shah remembers Manish Malhotra’s support
In a recent interview with Zoom, Taha Shah Badussha reminisced about the times when he was relatively unknown in the industry, revealing that he used to ‘beg’ designers for clothing.
“We are fortunate to have many stylists and designers who provide us with clothing now. However, this only happened after I gained recognition. When I wasn’t that well-known, nobody would give me clothes…” the Heeramandi star shared.
Taha mentioned how he had to ‘beg’ and ‘plead’ for outfits, but noted that renowned designer Manish Malhotra supported him during his struggling phase. “However, there were a few people who always stood by me, and I must admit it. One of them was Manish Malhotra,” he added.
When Manish Malhotra offered him his designs
Taha Shah Badussha further detailed how Manish Malhotra would invite him to events and dress him up. Malhotra also encouraged Taha to contact him whenever needed.
Recalling how the designer helped him dress stylishly at a film festival, the 36-year-old actor said, “When I attended a film festival in Los Angeles, Manish Malhotra provided me with his outfits. He did the same when I visited Dubai.”
Taha Shah mentioned that he never had to pay for those outfits.
Taha Shah Badussha’s professional endeavors
Taha Shah Badussha made his debut in Bollywood with Luv Ka The End in 2011. He starred opposite Shraddha Kapoor in the film. He has also appeared in movies like Gippi and Baar Baar Dekho.
