Heartstopper Season 3 Trailer Takes a Deep Dive into Nick and Charlie’s Emotional Journey Plus a Special Appearance by a Beloved Bridgerton Star
Heartstopper season 3 trailer teases an emotional rollercoaster awaiting the fans, from coping with intimacy issues to body dysphoria. But the most surprising part of it all was a cameo made by Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey. “Yeah, he’s really hot,” Nick tells Charlie after their encounter to which he says “Oh my god.” The second season ended with the beloved couple Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) being more vulnerable and confessing their love for one another.
Season three teases that they will tackle a challenging phase of their relationship. Nick is struggling to provide Charlie with the comfort he needs whereas the latter is taking baby steps towards embracing intimacy. “Charlie, I’m really worried about you,” Nick says at one point. “I’ve noticed you’ve been really stressed,” Nick says at one point.
Elle (Yasmin Finney) and Tao (William Gao) confessed their feelings by the end of season 2 but their relationship seems to have a rocky start with Elle’s body dysmorphia struggles. However, with “some good advice,” therapy and healing the kids seem to be overcoming their problems.
“Sometimes people need more support than one person can give. You can be there for him, standing together even when it’s hard,” someone advises Nick with a montage of all the couples playing over the voiceover.
Heartstopper is a teen romantic drama series which revolves around “Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, One day are made to sit together in class. Their friendship becomes something more for Charlie, but he does not believe he has a chance,” as per the official synopsis.
The third season of Emmy-winning queer romance has added new cast members including Hayley Atwell as Nick’s aunt Diane, Jonathan Bailey as Instagram-famous classicist Jack Maddox and Eddie Marsan as Charlie’s therapist Geoff. The returning cast includes Connor, Locke, Finney, Gao, Jenna Walser as Tori Spring, Olivia Colman as Sarah Nelson, Sebastian Croft as Ben Hope and others.
Heartstopper Season 3 premieres on Netflix on October 3.
