Angelina Jolie’s New Priorities as a Parent: Putting Herself First – What the Mom of Six Has to Say
Angelina Jolie discussed her experiences as a mother in a recent interview with CR Fashion Book. She revealed that her priorities shifted significantly after becoming a mother of six children. Jolie shared that once she became a parent, her needs were no longer the top priority as they were now shared among her children.
During the interview, the Maleficent actress explained, “There are countless moments, but when you become a parent, you no longer come first. Your life is dedicated to another. It’s a beautiful feeling.” Jolie shares her six children, including Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox, with her former husband Brad Pitt.
In addition, Jolie mentioned that she and her daughter Vivienne got matching tattoos to commemorate their first project together. They both inked the phrase “Stay Gold,” which is a line from a song in the Broadway show, The Outsiders.

While Jolie made her directorial debut on Broadway, Vivienne served as her mother’s assistant and also co-produced the musical. Jolie proudly displayed her wrist tattoo at the musical’s opening night.
Furthermore, Jolie mentioned that she has other tattoos that match those of her other children. She explained, “I also have a bird tattoo that I share with some of my children, which holds personal significance to us.”
In a previous interview with WSJ, the Eternals actress emphasized the strong bond she shares with her children, describing them as the closest people in her life. She stated, “They are my closest friends and the closest people to me. We are seven very different individuals, and that is our strength.”
Angelina Jolie is currently promoting her new design brand, Atelier Jolie.
