In 2011, during an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Malone shared that he got his stage name using an online rap name generator. The pseudonym is a combination of his last name, Post, and a name generated online.
He isn’t the only rapper who turned to the internet for naming inspiration. Childish Gambino also used an online name generator, specifically from the Wu-Tang Clan.
