Halsey Reveals Her Diagnoses of Lupus and Rare Lymphoproliferative Disorder
Halsey is sharing her health journey with fans.
After releasing her new song “The End” and hinting at recent health issues, the singer, also known as Ashley Frangipane, opened up about her struggles and expressed gratitude for the support from her followers.
In a June 5 Instagram post, Halsey wrote, “I realize everyone is catching up with news I’ve held onto for a long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share. You’ve all been so kind, so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, both of which are currently being managed or in remission.”
Lupus SLE is an autoimmune disease that can cause flare ups and affect various parts of the body by triggering the immune system to attack healthy tissue, as explained by the National Institutes of Health. The organization also notes that T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder is connected to bone marrow cell production, is rare, and typically occurs in individuals with compromised immune systems.
