Samantha Ruth Prabhu shares candidly about her challenging relationship with her father in a recent interview on family dynamics.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming web series Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actress discussed how her on-screen character mirrors her real-life journey. Samantha also opened up about her relationship with her father.
She revealed that her connection with the character Honey goes beyond professional similarities, delving into personal experiences as well. Samantha shared that she had a challenging relationship with her father, which has impacted her journey.
Samantha said, “Oh my god! Should I? Can I? Well, for starters, I had a particularly difficult relationship with my father.”
Like her character in the web series, Samantha has faced tough challenges but has always found the strength to overcome them. Despite being diagnosed with myositis and going through a separation from her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya, she has made a significant impact in both the regional and pan-Indian film industries.
This isn’t the first time Samantha has discussed her relationship with her father. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan, she talked about her dynamics with him.
She was asked if she always wanted to be part of the film industry. Samantha explained that it wasn’t entirely her choice. Due to financial difficulties at home, her father informed her that he couldn’t cover her loans, leading her to pursue a career in films.
Samantha mentioned, “No, it wasn’t. I didn’t have a choice actually because things were hard at home. We didn’t have much money to study further, but I am really glad. When my father said, ‘No, I can’t pay your loans,’ that changed my life.”
On the work front, Samantha has several exciting projects lined up, including a film titled Bangaram.
