When discussing Gwen Stefani‘s relationship with Blake Shelton, she acknowledges their strong connection.
Despite this, the “Hollaback Girl” singer admits that she still experiences moments of insecurity. In fact, these feelings inspired her to write the duet “Purple Irises” with the country music star.
“I found myself questioning my looks and age,” Gwen shared in an interview with NYLON for its relaunched print magazine on April 9. “Even in my relationship with Blake, despite knowing the truth, I sometimes create unnecessary drama due to my insecurities and fears. I was going through a phase of paranoia.”
Nevertheless, Gwen is sure of her deep love for Blake.
“The reality is that I am in love with my best friend,” the 54-year-old expressed. “All the negative thoughts in my head are just me overthinking.”
