To prioritize spending time with his loved ones, Ryan Gosling is now more careful in choosing the acting roles he takes on. He tends to avoid roles that would make him feel emotionally drained.
According to WSJ. Magazine, Ryan explained, “I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place. This moment is about trying to understand what is best for my family and making decisions with them in mind first.”
Ryan believes that his shift towards being more selective with roles began after his experience working on the 2016 film La La Land.
He mentioned, “It was a fun experience for my family too, even though they weren’t on set. We practiced piano, danced, and sang together. This played a role in my decision to play Ken in the upcoming 2023 film Barbie as my kids’ interest in Barbie and disinterest in Ken inspired me. They were already creating their own movies with Barbies on the iPad, so it felt like we were all on the same page.”
