Dates Revealed for Gotham Awards 2024 and Gotham TV Awards 2025
The date for the 2024 Gotham Awards, one of the first high-profile ceremonies of Oscars season, has been set.
The 34th annual Gotham Awards will take place on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. This year’s event will be the first in several years without awards being handed out in TV categories, as The Gotham recently broke those out into a separate TV Awards ceremony, the inaugural edition of which took place earlier this month.
And The Gotham has set the date for next year’s TV Awards, which will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, where all of The Gotham’s TV honors will be presented.
At the film-focused Gotham Awards, taking place in their longtime spot of the first Monday after Thanksgiving, projects will be recognized in the following categories: best feature, documentary feature, international feature, lead performance, supporting performance, breakthrough director and screenplay. This year awards will also be presented in two additional categories: breakthrough performer, which returns after a brief hiatus, and best director, which is new.
At the 2023 Gotham Awards, Past Lives won best feature, Anatomy of a Fall won best international feature and screenplay, Lily Gladstone won best lead performance for her work in The Unknown Country, and Charles Melton won best supporting performance for his work in May December.
At the first Gotham TV Awards, which took place on June 4, Baby Reindeer won breakthrough limited series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith won breakthrough drama series and Colin From Accounts won breakthrough comedy series.
Recent Gotham Award winners have included Oscar winners Everything Everywhere All at Once, CODA, Nomadland, Marriage Story, American Factory, Moonlight, Spotlight and Birdman.
