Glen Powell’s Response to Reviving Romantic Comedies and Tom Cruise
It’s tough work, but someone has to do it. And that someone is Glen Powell.
During the 2024 SAG Awards on Feb. 24, the 35-year-old responded to claims that he has revived romantic comedies (with his and Sydney Sweeney‘s film Anyone But You) and, quite literally, Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick.
“I’m glad Tom’s doing well too, it was a win-win situation for both of us,” Glen told Live From E!: SAG Awards host Loni Love. “Saved Tom Cruise, saved the romantic comedy genre. I’m feeling great.”
The star of Set It Up added, “I must say, the success of Anyone But You has been pleasantly surprising and truly amazing. The way audiences have responded to that film has been incredible.” (Check out all the celebrities at the 2024 SAG Awards here.)
Undoubtedly, the romantic comedy that sparked rumors of romance between its leads quickly became a fan favorite—and both Glen and Sydney would be thrilled to do it all over again.
