International Fans Get Early Release of Gladiator 2; North American Fans Anticipate Colosseum Spectacle
The early release of one of the highly anticipated sequels this year has received a positive response from the international audience. However, fans in North America will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the film, which delves into the aftermath of Russel Crowe’s 2000 movie.
Gladiator 2 to be released earlier internationally
For international fans who can’t wait to witness the spectacle inside the Colosseum, here’s some exciting news. Gladiator 2 will be released early internationally, ahead of its North American audience.
According to Collider, the highly anticipated movie will hit screens worldwide on November 15 this year.
The same report mentions that the events from Gladiator will be shown in theaters in the U.S. and Canada on the previously announced date of November 22, 2024.
About Gladiator 2
Ridley Scott’s second installment of the legendary movie features a star-studded cast. Paul Mescal will lead Gladiator 2, portraying the adult Lucius.
In the previous movie, Lucius was the young nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus, the film’s antagonist.
Alongside Mescal, the cast includes Denzel Washinton as a former slave turned wealthy merchant.
Pedro Pascal plays a former military commander who disobeys orders and becomes a gladiator fighting for survival.
May Calamawy, known for her role in Marvel Studio’s Moon Knight, and Joseph Quinn as Emperor Caracalla are also part of the cast.
Connie Nielson and Derek Jacobi will reprise their roles as Lucilla and Senator Gracchus from the first movie.
Reflecting on his character, Mescal expressed excitement about being part of the franchise while acknowledging the legacy of the film.
