Meet the Latest Bachelor from Jenn Tran’s Season
Family is extremely important to Grant, who proudly refers to himself as a “mama’s boy” in his Bachelorette bio. During his time on the show, Grant bravely opened up about his father’s struggle with addiction.
“My father has been battling addiction for about 30 years,” he shared during a one-on-one date with Jenn in New Zealand on the Aug. 5 episode. “Growing up, my dad was my hero. He would take me to the park, but he was always under the influence. As a child, I believed everything he said. The person I trusted the most was always lying.”
Prior to appearing on the show, Grant revealed that his father had lost his job.
“Addicts tend to blame others,” Grant explained. “But one day, my dad called me and said he was checking into rehab. Since then, we’ve had honest conversations and he’s now almost two months sober. I’m incredibly proud of him and hopeful for his future.”
