Gavin Rossdale Opens Up About Feeling “Shame” Following Divorce from Gwen Stefani
At the age of 58, he could understand these challenges all too well.
“Growing up in a broken home wasn’t easy for me,” he admitted. “However, in a way, it led me to a unique career path. It can really affect kids in a negative way.”
Rossdale, who is also a father to daughter Daisy Lowe, 35, from a previous relationship, ended his marriage with Stefani in 2015 after being together for almost 13 years. Stefani has since remarried Blake Shelton, but Rossdale mentioned that he still supports his kids at their events even if his ex-wife is present.
“I attend many events where she is also present,” he explained. “I take pride in being consistent as a father. I know I have my flaws, and things didn’t go as perfectly as I had hoped.”
Even when he is on tour away from his children, he emphasized the strong and unwavering bond he shares with them.
Another thing Rossdale remains steadfast on is his decision to not speak negatively about Stefani following their separation.
“I choose not to say anything negative about her,” he stated. “It’s important for me to show respect and not speak ill of their mother.”
