Gabourey Sidibe and husband Brandon Frankel welcome twins
Gabourey Sidibe has exciting news to share.
The Oscar nominee and her husband Brandon Frankel recently announced the arrival of their twins, a girl and a boy named Maya and Cooper in April.
“Brandon had always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we affectionately call him ‘Coop,'” Gabourey revealed to The Shade Room on June 6. She added, “Maya’s name was chosen just before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both twins have middle names from our West African heritage, honoring family members.”
The Precious star has been embracing the unique bond between her twins during the initial months of motherhood.
“Cooper sometimes takes on the role of spokesperson for Maya, letting us know when she’s about to spit up,” she shared. “Maya enjoys having her name sung to her and has a great sense of humor, while Cooper is a sleepyhead with hilarious expressions. They both cherish moments of cuddling with Mom and Dad.”
