16-Year-Old Child of Former Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield Reported Missing
Authorities are currently seeking the whereabouts of Slack cofounder Stewart Butterfield‘s 16-year-old child.
Mint Butterfield was last observed on the night of April 21 in Bolinas, Calif., as stated by a Marin County Sheriff’s Office deputy in a post on the department’s Nextdoor account on April 23. The police described the teen as approximately 5’0″ tall, weighing 100 pounds, with reddish-brown curly hair, pierced eyebrows, and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants, and black boots.
“They may have had a gray suitcase in their possession,” mentioned the statement. “It is suspected that Mint may have headed towards the San Francisco area after leaving.”
The teenager’s father, who resigned as CEO of Slack in 2022 following the company’s purchase by Salesforce, and mother Caterina Fake, the billionaire’s former spouse who co-founded the image-hosting service Flickr with him in 2004, have not made any public statements regarding Mint, their only child.
Mint’s mother, who resides in San Francisco, notified the authorities about the teenager’s disappearance on April 22, disclosed a Marin County Sheriff’s Office sergeant to the San Francisco Chronicle, noting that the adolescent is “believed to be in the Tenderloin” area of the city, where they were known to frequent.
