Ex-roommate discloses last text to Madison Mogen
Madison Mogen‘s friend is finally speaking out about her tragic murder.
More than a year after Madison and three other University of Idaho students were viciously killed in their off-campus residence, Ashlin Couch, a former tenant of the now-demolished Moscow house, recounted receiving an alert from the university regarding a potential homicide.
“I messaged our circle of friends and asked, ‘Has anyone heard from Maddie?'” Ashlin recalled during an interview broadcasted on Good Morning America on May 8. “And I remember, my last text to her was like, ‘Are you OK?’ I just had a gut feeling that something was amiss.”
Ashlin, along with loved ones, has been grieving since the tragic loss of Madison, 21, Kaylee Gonclaves, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, as well as her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, which was confirmed in November 2022.
“You always wish you could have a chance to say goodbye,” she expressed. “To give her one last embrace. Just to bid farewell.”
