Firerose didn’t expect to “survive” after breaking up with Billy Ray Cyrus
Billy Ray Cyrus‘s first encounter with Firerose happened while he was taking a break with his dog on the set of Hannah Montana, the popular Disney Channel series he starred in alongside his daughter Miley Cyrus from 2006 to 2011.
Describing the moment, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer told People, “On that particular day, Firerose emerged from the front door. There was almost a sense of recognition. I felt like, ‘This girl is a star.'”
Even though Cyrus didn’t know who Firerose, then 22, was at the time, his future fiancé was well-aware of his music. “Having grown up in Australia, my passion for music surpassed everything else,” she explained. “I’ve been familiar with his music for as long as I can remember.”
During an audition, Cyrus offered to introduce Firerose to the Hannah Montana crew and invited her to observe a rehearsal of the show.
“She met many of the cast members, as well as the producers and writers,” he recalled. “And, in many ways, we gradually developed a friendship.”
