25. Candace and Val found themselves as empty nesters in 2021 after celebrating Maksim’s graduation from NorthStar Christian Academy and sending him off to college in August – though they only made it as far as the airport.
“I had to simply drop him off at LAX. And I’m not getting any sympathy from someone,” Candace shared on her Instagram Story in a video recorded before her and Val even reached home. Unmoved, her husband responded to the pointed remark, stating, “That’s the issue with America, raising soft kids.”
In a later update, Candace mentioned, “Maks did not give me a call when he landed from his flight. But I called him, and he landed safely, and we had a FaceTime call. Someone is picking him up from the airport, and he’s crashing at someone’s place.”
