Farida Jalal clarifies statement about losing touch with Shah Rukh Khan: ‘Why would I make such a claim?’
Farida Jalal recently appeared in the series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She has been generating buzz online with her comments about Shah Rukh Khan.
The veteran actress, who has collaborated with Shah Rukh in various films, addressed the issue of losing contact with the superstar. She has now clarified the situation.
Farida Jalal clarifies her statement regarding Shah Rukh Khan
In a recent interview with Zoom, Farida Jalal explained that her remark about not being in touch with Shah Rukh Khan was misinterpreted. She also made a similar comment about Salman Khan.
“I simply mentioned that the contact numbers I have for them may be outdated. There might have been changes. That’s all I said,” Farida Jalal clarified.
The seasoned actress expressed her dismay at how her innocent comment about Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan became headlines. She emphasized, “It was just a harmless observation. What else could I say?”
Farida Jalal also revealed that she is sensitive to how her remarks are manipulated.
“It bothers me when people claim I said things like ‘There’s a big difference in Shah Rukh Khan now.’ Why would I say something like that?” questioned the DDLJ actress.
Farida Jalal also praised Shah Rukh Khan’s growth as an actor over the years. “Even though he was somewhat inexperienced initially, he has evolved into a seasoned actor. He is truly the best we have,” she added.
Farida Jalal’s experience working with Shah Rukh in Duplicate
Farida Jalal reminisced about working with SRK in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Duplicate in the 1990s. She recalled how Shah Rukh’s energetic presence on set would leave her feeling “exhausted.”
Previous remarks about not staying in touch with SRK
In an earlier interview with India Today, Farida Jalal mentioned that she has lost contact with Shah Rukh Khan. She echoed the same sentiment about Salman Khan, stating that their mobile numbers have changed.
Farida Jalal shared that when she tries calling SRK, there is “no response” and his “secretary is uncooperative.”
Farida Jalal has also collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
