Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan set to begin filming Siddharth Anand’s King in January, aiming for Eid 2026 release; Exclusive news.
For the past year, we have been providing regular updates on the upcoming film “King” led by Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand with Red Chillies Entertainment. The film, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is an action-packed entertainer with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan playing mentor and protégé in the underworld, facing off against Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist. The writing and pre-production work are in full swing, and it has been confirmed that the shooting of “King” has been scheduled.
Sources close to the project reveal that “King” will start filming in Mumbai in January, with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan leading the charge. The first schedule will be followed by an extensive shoot in Europe, with the filmmakers scouting for unique locations to bring grandeur to the film. The cast includes SRK in the titular role along with Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan.
The filming is expected to continue until August/September next year, with multiple location changes planned to capture the action sequences authentically. The goal is to combine real locations with studio setups to enhance the storytelling. The team aims to introduce a new form of action with Shah Rukh Khan in “King,” and the actor is thrilled to explore this new territory.
It is reported that “King” is eyeing an Eid 2026 release, marking Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the festival after the success of “Chennai Express.” The production house Marflix, owned by Siddharth Anand, is also preparing to release several films in the next two years, including “King” and other exciting projects.
