Karthikeya 2 is a Telugu-language mystery action-adventure film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The story follows Dr. Karthikeya on a quest to find Lord Krishna’s lost anklet, and it stars Nikhil, Anupama Parameswaran, Anupam Kher, Adithya Menon, Srinivasa Reddy, Satya, and others in key roles.

Q. What sets Karthikeya 2 apart from other films in the same genre, and what do you think contributed to its success?
Ans. I believe the attention to detail and thorough research we put into the film added a sense of believability. The film delved into Indian mythology, history, and culture, presented in an authentic and honest manner. The mix of culture, mythology, history, adventure, and comedy made it a wholesome family film that appealed to a wide audience.
Karthikeya 2 was also designed to be an entertaining big-screen experience, a departure from other films in the genre that may lack entertainment value.
Q. How do you think winning the National Award will influence your future projects and acting career?
Ans. The National Award recognition has brought widespread awareness to the film, leading to successful runs across different regions and languages. This accolade motivates us to exceed expectations for a potential third installment. The anticipation for the next chapter is high, and we aim to deliver quality content with upcoming projects like Swayambhu and The India House.
Q. What was your vision for Karthikeya 2, and how did you aim to enhance the storytelling compared to the first film?
Ans. We aimed to create a universal appeal with the film, ensuring that it resonated with audiences nationwide. The meticulous dubbing process and inclusive casting helped bridge cultural gaps and make the story accessible to a wider audience.
Q. The film incorporates strong mythological elements. What is your take on movies striking a balance between entertainment and cultural representation?
Ans. It’s crucial to maintain a balance between entertainment and cultural representation. Films should authentically integrate cultural elements into the narrative and appeal to diverse audiences. Money shouldn’t drive creative decisions; organic incorporation of cultural themes can enrich storytelling and captivate viewers from all backgrounds.
